Regular, light touch supervision sessions help volunteers feel valued and supported. It's important to ensure they don't feel like a work place appraisal, but are an opportunity for a two way discussion about performance, training needs and reflection on the role being undertaken.

A structured system will help manage the supervision of volunteers, perhaps using a supervision form so that issues are noted and kept by both the worker and the supervisor.

This system can help supervisors record any breaches of the organisations Code of Conduct, and discuss matters of concern.
